Hire Only A Professional for Mold Remediation
Mold is not only unsightly, it can be dangerous and can affect your health as well as adversely effect the air quality in your property. Air quality and the health of you and your business or tenants go hand-in-hand. Not all mold are toxic, but all are allergenic. Some molds can trigger allergic reactions and even asthma attacks in people allergic to mold. Fifty to sixty percent of all allergies are mold related. Toxic mold will effect everyone that is exposed. Some reported effects from toxic mold have been extensive and range from eye, nose and throat irritation to serius cases of asthma and pneumonia. The effects of toxic mold seem to differ from person to person and seems to depend on many factors such as age, health condition, length of exposure etc.
Mold remedation should only be done by a professional. Mold, in factories, commercial buildings and apartments is most often found on walls, floors, ceilings, counter tops, and carpets exposed to moisture. Microscopic spores can be hidden inside a wall, behind a tub surround, even under a kitchen sink. One very common hiding place is inside the duct work and associated components of central forced-air heating and air-conditioning systems.
After water damage of any kind your property becomes a breeding ground for mold. All mold should be removed as quickly as possible to avoid the health issues already discussed. Walls and floors could be permenately damaged causing more expense to recover from water damage.
Mold Inspection Services
When our inspector arrives at your property location, he will identify himself as the Advance Mold Remediation Inspector and then begin the process to assess the outer areas of your property. Our Mold Inspector will conduct a free visual mold inspection of your property prior to any testing or remediation.
Our inspector will do a visual inspection of the area outside of your property:
- Check the foundation of the property for cracks
- Inspect any cracks on the property itself
- Inspect grading of the property
- Inspect drainage spouts, checking to be sure they are draining away from the house & foundation
We will also perform a visual inspection of areas inside your property:
- HVAC system
- all areas with a Protimeter
- basement/mold/attic mold/dry wall mold
- video camera scans inside walls
- thermal imaging inside walls
After a thorough inspection has been performed by our certificed mold inspector you will be presented with his analysis. If our inspector finds no visible evidence of mold contamination and no water damage, then the inspector will ask you if you would like to have a further more indepth analysis performed, otherwise there may not be enough sufficient evidence of mold contamination. When there is visible signs of mold contamination and/or signs of water damage, our inspector will always suggest that the mold be tested directly.
Mold Testing
Our mold inspector will take samples of mold found whether airborne or stationed and then send these samples to a professional laboratory for complete testing. There is a fee associated with this testing.
The mold testing will entail the following:
- Tape/Bulk/Swab (sampling visible mold)
- Air Sample (sampling non-visible air spores)
- In general laboratory results take approximately 24 to 72 hours. When the results are given to RCWaterDamage, we will immediately send a copy of the results to you with a letter explaining what molds were found and what effects they may cause to your health. Per the results of this examination/testing we will then discuss the need for/against remediation.
